這首歌寫於1993年，是和"My Iron Lung" 同時期的作品。在美國，Creep大紅大紫；而在英國大受歡迎的就是這首"Street Spirit (Fade Out)" 。跟著歌詞聽這首歌，就像身在令人畏懼的世界中的渺小人類。

在Ben Okri的小說The Famished Road中，有隻三頭鬼魂領著主角走了一段路，Thom說這首歌便是受此啟發。

 Jonathan Glazer 盧Radiohead說，如果這首歌發行單曲，就讓他當MV導演。Radiohead答應了。結果Thom好可愛(喂)。

 在"Paranoid Android"出來之前，這首歌造就Radiohead最好的排名成績（英國單曲榜的第五名，而PA是第三名）。
